Company: Hancock Brick Company

Location: Plant was located at 1330 Lemon St., Riverside, and by 1956, at 21516 Main St. Highgrove, CA.

Years: 1899-1960s

Type: Common brick

Description: Brand name in block letters raised in a deep rectangular frog in the face.

Equipment: Potts soft mud machine, later stiff mud machine, gas-fired field kilns.

Capacity: 43,000 daily.

Deposit: 5 feet thick loam in 20-foot bank, mined by steam shovel.

Comments: C.P. Hancock and Sons, owners.
